okay kids, it's that time of year - finally. after a brutal year for movies - and for everything else, for that matter - i am eager to get this overly secured and racially challenged contest for the naked gold man over with. i look forward to a 2002 with better films, and times, ahead.
for those of you who are new, please read the rules carefully. for those veterans out there, you can skip straight to the disclaimer
remember, as always, comments are welcome, but not appreciated.
i won't get all political on you here (as i usually do). basically, this is how it works: it goes without saying that who SHOULD win and who WILL win are often very different animals. so, to make it easier for the oscar night viewing audience, i have noted who WILL win the oscar and who SHOULD win (in my not-so-humble opinion). as always i will include obvious omissions. these are films, actors, directors, etc, that were obviously not seen by any of the voters - how else could one explain their exclusion?
due to the predictably unpredictable aptitude of the academy voters, i cannot be responsible for any finances lost in office or local bar room oscar pools.
i'll start with the boring ones - i promise, i'll be brief.
